Beautiful, Fun and Unique Brackenridge Country Wedding | Truong & Blayne

Truong and Blayne’s Leap Day wedding was such a treat for me to capture, full of many sweet details and surprises and SO much joy, love and happiness! An incredible amount of thought and careful logistics went into the planning of this wonderful day. Truong has added below some really great advice and ideas for couples planning their wedding and you have to check out their wine selection it was sooo good!!

Q. In three words describe your wedding style?

Beautiful, Fun and Unique

Q. What was your favourite moment from your wedding?

Having all our favourite people together and just having a fun day with them all but if I had to pick one specific moment - giving Blayne his chilly bin instead of a ring, keeping that surprise from him was the hardest thing I've had to do!!!!

Q. What was the most difficult part of planning your wedding? And the most fun?

The most difficult thing was being able to conceal all our surprises from certain people - I had to make multiple versions of the schedule/comms/emails out to make sure surprises weren’t spoiled early. A few of the things we needed to conceal was our celebrants name (our celebrant (Eammon) was a family friend to Blayne’s Family, Eammon’s one condition on being our celebrant was Blayne’s family don’t find out until the wedding day), organising and hiding Blayne’s chilly bin (Blayne’s parents brought it all the way back from the USA!), and many of our guests didn’t know we'd booked the venue before we were engaged (made for good speeches)... the list goes on! haha was a hard act to juggle but we made it in the end :)

The most fun was probably ‘sampling’ all the wine beforehand! We had to get through many many bottles until we finally picked the wines for the day.

Q. Did you DIY? If so, what did you do?

We designed/laser cut all our save the dates, table names/wine charms and some drinks signage we had around on the day. Blayne and his Dad also made the chopping boards for the cheese to go on!

Q. Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

To relax, it's just one day- no one will notice if things are crooked or missing. The most important thing is the person standing at the aisle with you, you get to marry your best friend with all of your favourite people there! One thing we really enjoyed was doing the photos before the ceremony, that way we could maximise all the time with our family/friends!

In terms of planning - Google ‘Ultimate Wedding Planning board trello’,  using this in conjunction with google sheets is awesome. It also means that everything is always accessible on your phone when you’re out and about.

Q. What do you love most about your photos? What was it like having Caroline as your wedding photographer?

Our photos are so stunning and we really treasure all the amazing memories that Caroline captured. It was very cool looking back at them and being reminded of small snippets that we had forgotten about or didn’t see on the day. Caroline made the whole process so easy and made ourselves and our guests feel at ease. We thought it’d be awkward having someone taking photos all day but Caroline is so great and just ninja’d her way around and captured so many memorable shots.

And also to Kirsty from Etcetera Bridal - she went out of her way to get my correct dress size to Wellington so I could try it on, she was so honest and such a delight. I would definitely recommend getting to a trunk show of hers when she is in your city.
